D19 – Parking

Road sign D19 belongs to Group D “Special regulation signs” and indicates a designated parking area for vehicles. The sign can mark both free and paid parking and may also be used to pre-signal the direction and distance to the parking area.

It is usually placed approximately 200 meters before the parking area outside built-up areas, as well as on approaches to parking within settlements. Proper visibility and installation standards are followed to ensure the sign is clearly visible to drivers.

Visually, the sign consists of a blue square with a white letter “P” in the center. The shape and color scheme are standardized and recognized internationally for parking areas.

Standard sizes:

• 600 mm for urban areas

• 900 mm for roads outside built-up areas

The main purpose of sign D19 is to clearly indicate the presence of a parking area, ensure safety when approaching it, and facilitate the movement of vehicles to parking spots.
