Hot bitumen adhesive

Hot bitumen adhesive is a high temperature adhesive used in construction and industry for bonding various materials. It comes in a solid form and is heated to a high temperature to make it liquid and sticky. Once applied in the liquid state and cured, the hot bitumen adhesive forms a strong and durable bond between surfaces. Provides a permanently flexible jointing product with a joint movement allowance of over 20%. Composition

Hot bitumen adhesive is composed of:

• modified bitumen,

• synthetic resins,

• elastomers (SBS),

• plasticizers,

• fillers.

Properties

1. Hot melt bitumen adhesive softens at approximately 140°C. Regains its elastic properties subsequently when it reaches ambient temperature. Remains elastic over temperature ranges from -20°C to +80°C. Repeated heat cycles may change its properties. The adhesive does not shrink on application and is practically resistant to ageing.

2. No effect on polyurethane porous materials, polyethylene, glass wool, etc. It is resistant to cleaning agents, dilute acids and alkaline solutions. It is susceptible to inorganic oils, solvents and corrodes polystyrene.
