Caps for Straight Anchors

Caps for Straight Anchors

Caps for straight anchors are plastic heads fitted on straight fastening anchors when installing cellular confinement systems (geocells). They increase the bearing area of the anchor on the material and so provide extra stabilisation and reinforcement of the grid.

The cap spreads the pressure, protects the cell wall from being cut by the edge of the rod and stops the grid from riding up the anchor during filling and compaction.

Advantages

• Larger bearing area on the cell wall
• Extra stability of geocell systems
• Protects the strip from cutting
• Quick installation without tools
• Neater and safer finish

Technical specifications

Installation

1. Stretch and position the geocell.
2. Fit the cap on the top end of the straight anchor.
3. Drive the anchor through the cell until the cap sits tight on the strip.
4. Continue along the perimeter and across the area and fill the cells.
