How are woven gabions manufactured?
Reno woven gabions are reliable retaining structures made of double-twisted galvanized wire with a thickness of Ф3.00 mm. They feature a hexagonal mesh opening, known as the "gabion eye," measuring 80x100 mm. Due to the "woven" construction, they are flexible and adapt to uneven surfaces both below and above them. They are available in various sizes, but the 200x100x17 cm model is among the most commonly used.
The cells of woven gabions are closed (tied) with galvanized wire or galvanized clamps and are filled with inert rock material. The mesh acts as a retaining structure, preventing the displacement of the rock pieces and ensuring stability even under heavy loads.
